Came across a great tutorial for Illustrator, Create a gang of vector ninjas, and put it to work.  My ninjas are the Cowabunga Girls, because we like ninjutsu too!

Start of a portfolio?

So I have work displayed on this blog’s Portfolio page, but I really need to have my own originally designed portfolio. Using the Design a breath-taking portfolio layout tutorial on Grafpedia, I took a stab at creating something.

My health insurance is changing to something less expensive soon.  Not sure if it will be Blue Cross Blue Shield, but this is still a celebration piece!  Sure the text is a little inaccurate, but let’s consider real estate people.

Photoshop Practice

It’s funny how fast your Photoshop skills weaken without practice, so I’m starting a string of tutorials to keep myself sharp. Check out this great tutorial on psd-tuts -  Create a Custom Mac Address Book Icon.  Here’s mine (click to enlarge):

The tutorial employs filters, clipping masks, and several layer blending options.  A lot of work yes, but the effects are worth it!
